Keen
by Liliana Graves

Runestone, volume 12

You felt my wicked sinew.
You felt my temper fade.
You saw the dirt in my mouth.
You came from a burrow
in the snow to change me.
You pushed right through me
like a needle on the backing.
I hid from you for a month
and a day and then
I sprung out, ready, and cut
the dead out of my hair
and ran the dogs out of my home
and spoke your name
into my bones.
